Urban Decay Naked 3

As ALOT of people know now, Urban Decay released a third palette from their naked series back in December 2013 (December 16th if I can think back!) and though I didn't get it the day it came out, I HAD to get it for Christmas! So I took out my credit card and splurged out on it a week before Christmas, and I can tell you I am SO glad I did!

As like both their previous 2 palettes (naked and naked 2) the price was fairly the same around the time they all came out. I paid £37 at the debenhams counter, and it's definitely one of the more upmarket palettes because of not only the price but the quality too. I do have to say though, my credit card was feeling very empty after I bought it, haha!

Let me first start off with the packaging- a lovely goldy bronze colour, with the font of urban decay on the front written in bold 'NAKED 3' with the array of colours which were included in the palette along the front and back of the box. Overall in my opinion, a lovely packaging to compliment a lovely product!

The actual product itself was very similar to the naked 2. The long palette made of tin with the words 'NAKED 3'. A lot of people dislike the similarities between the 2 palettes but I think it looks very sophisticated and sleek, something which I feel was not portrayed in the box of the original naked palette. (But oh well!)

NOW, let's get into the colours and shades! As always, they have gave us 12 shades, all of which are absolutely beautiful! My eyes just gleamed as I opened it. They have a range of metallics, shimmers and mattes, which is always great! (I don't like too many shimmers in a palette so it was good to see a vast range of all)

Left to right-

Strange- a matte cream/white. Good for highlighting areas such as the brow bone and inner corner of the eye.

Dust- a gorgeous light shimmery pink. (For me, this gave the most fallout but it's still gorgeous!)

Burnout- a light browny pink metallic, I use this nearly every day!

Limit- a matte medium pink. (Good for either lid or crease if you don't want to go too dramatic with the colours!)

Buzz- a beautiful medium pinky brown metallic.

Trick- a shimmery pure gold colour (my fave! It's so pigmented)

Nooner- a dark pink matte, I use this in my crease nearly everyday.

Liar- a dark gold nearly brown metallic.

Factory- a dark brown metallic (lovely!)

Mugshot- a medium brown metallic.

Darkside- a greyish/ brown matte (good for crease if you want a more dramatic look!)

Blackheart- a charcoal brown with red glitter, another favourite of mine from the palette, it's beautiful! I use it when I want to do a smokey eye.

I would say the first left half is more of the pinky rose neutral colours that it describes the palette as on the box, and the right hand side is more browny dusk colours which can be used for a smokey eye.

As I said above, these colours can be used for any look! Ranging from very natural to a dramatic smokey eye with colours such as Blackheart and Darkside. You can mix and match and just create a look that best suits you! This palette has endless combinations, which I love!

I cannot say enough good words about this palette, it's honestly one of the best things I've purchased in 2013 without a doubt and I really want the previous 2! I guess the only thing that lets it down is the price. It's very expensive especially for a eyeshadow palette but with expensiveness comes quality! And this certainly lives up to its standards.

For any makeup lovers out there, the naked 3 is a great investment! As I said, endless combinations to achieve any look and it's just a great addition to your makeup collection! Everyone needs to try this out, it's beautiful and I cannot sing its praises enough!
